How Does Invisalign Work?

If you’re looking for a discreet and comfortable way to straighten your teeth and improve your bite, Invisalign may be the ideal choice. Since 1997, millions of patients have used Invisalign clear tray aligners to achieve the smile of their dreams without the discomfort that often comes with metal braces.

Invisalign trays can be removed so you can eat, drink, brush, and floss without any issues. Also, they are virtually invisible to the naked eye so it will not be as apparent that you are undergoing orthodontic treatment.

The Invisalign Treatment

The Invisalign treatment begins when you meet with Dr. Amin Samadian and his team for a thorough consultation. Once Dr. Samadian has determined you are a good candidate for Invisalign, he will take photos of your teeth and face as well as x-rays and a digital scan of your teeth. This advanced technology will all be used to design a series of custom aligners that will be used to improve your smile. You will also be able to see a before and after simulation of your bite.

Dr. Amin Samadian uses the data collected in your smile scans in an algorithm. He will then be able to determine your exact treatment plan, including how many trays will be necessary to achieve your desired result.

You will change your trays approximately every 2 weeks, depending on the complexity of your case. Gradually, if you consistently wear the aligners for at least 22 hours each day, the trays will put pressure on your teeth causing them to move into proper positioning. You can expect your teeth to move 2/10th mm per aligner change.

It is important to select an experienced doctor who is well-versed in Invisalign, the trays are the tools used to align your teeth, but the knowledge comes from your doctor. Dr. Samadian has an extremely high success rate and is an Invisalign expert.

Invisalign Results

After your Invisalign treatment plan is complete you will enjoy a beautifully aligned bite and smile.  Since each patient has their own unique needs, treatment times vary. Your age, tooth structure, and how well you adhere to Dr. Amin Samadian’s instructions will all play a role in your treatment time. Typically, however, Invisalign treatment can take anywhere between one to two years depending on the complexity of your case.
