How Much Do Dental Crowns Cost?

One of the most popular treatments at Dr. Samadian’s office is CEREC same-day crowns. Dr. Samadian CEREC crowns adhere to the minimally invasive dentistry protocol. CEREC dental crowns are made of porcelain and fit over your teeth to improve their size and shape. In addition to enhancing the look of teeth, crowns can do wonders for their function.

When Dr. Samadian initially suggests crowns to a patient, one of the first questions they often ask is “How much do CEREC dental crowns cost?

CEREC same-day crowns are more convenient than traditional crowns and they are still quite affordable in comparison. In fact, many of Dr. Samadian’s patients are surprised to learn that they don’t cost more than traditional dental crowns.

If you have dental insurance, you can expect to pay anywhere between $300 and $1,000 out-of-pocket for a traditional dental crown. For a CEREC same-day crown, the cost ranges from $1200 and $1,500. Which is exactly similar to any full-porcelain regular crown, without any of the hassles of having a temporary tooth, getting impressions, color mismatches and multiple appointments that are the results of traditional crowns.

How CEREC Same-Day Crowns Work

Dr. Samadian is a strong advocate of CEREC same-day crowns because they follow the minimally invasive dentistry protocol, which allows him to conserve healthy tooth structure and use long-lasting dental materials that stand the test of time.

Dr. Samadian uses cutting-edge Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technology to design, fit, fabricate, and secure your crown. In most cases, the CEREC process takes two hours or less.

Once you receive your CEREC crowns, you can enjoy a whiter, healthier smile. Your teeth will also be stronger and it will be easier for you to chew and speak.

Believe it or not, CEREC same-day crowns can give you the chance to receive crowns in one 90-minute session. CEREC eliminates the need for multiple office visits, messy impressions, and a temporary crown. You can expect your custom crowns to be designed and placed to fit perfectly within a single day.

Additional Considerations for CEREC Same-Day Crowns

If your tooth is decayed or broken down, Dr. Samadian will clean the tooth and build it up with a composite filling material known as core build-up. The core build-up not only fills the decayed area of the tooth but also provides a strong foundation for the crown.

In addition, Dr. Samadian may suggest pulp capping to prevent your dental pulp from dying after being exposed. Dental pulp is the oral tissue within each tooth that includes blood vessels and connective tissue. There are two types of pulp capping, direct and indirect. Direct pulp capping is utilized when the removal of deep decay leads to the that the pulp is exposed.   indirect is when the soft layer of dentin that covers the pulp chamber gets capped.

To perform pulp capping, Dr. Samadian will drill the dental cavity. Then, he’ll clean the area and cover the pulp with a special medicine to protect it from infections. Next, he’ll stimulate the pulp to create dentin, a hard material that protects it.

Good Candidates for CEREC Same-Day Crowns

If you are bothered by the way your teeth look, you may benefit from CEREC same-day crowns. This treatment may also be ideal if you’re busy with work, childcare, and other responsibilities and don’t want to commit to traditional crown treatment. In addition, CEREC same-day crowns may be a viable treatment option if you would like to strengthen weak teeth. Dr. Amin Samadian will discuss your specific treatment options upon coming in for a consultation.
