It takes about five appointments to complete the entire denture process. Dr. Amin Samadin will begin by making an impression/digital scan of your jaw and taking some measurements. He will also determine the color of your natural teeth and send that information along with the measurements and impression to a dental laboratory so that a custom denture can be made.
Dr. Samadian’s in-house laboratory and 3D printing technology will make a model of your jaw, place the teeth in a wax base and carve the wax to the ideal form. You may be asked to come to our office again to try on the wax base and determine whether any adjustments need to be made. Once the denture is completed, it’ll be ready for you to wear.
You’ll need to care for your dentures, just like you would if they were natural teeth. Dr. Amin Samadian will encourage you to use a denture cleanser to clean them, always keep them moist when they’re not in your mouth, and clean your tongue and gums on a regular basis.
For the initial few weeks, your dentures may feel bulky or awkward. Eventually, your mouth will get used to them and you won’t experience any discomfort while wearing your dentures.
