If you’re longing for straighter teeth and a more attractive smile, Invisalign in Orinda with Dr. Samadian may be the ideal solution. With Invisalign orthodontic aligners, you can improve your smile in a discreet, comfortable manner and don’t have to worry about any metal braces or wires in your mouth.
Dr. Amin Samadian can design a customized Invisalign treatment plan that will enhance your smile and do wonders for your overall oral health. More than 4 million patients across the globe have been treated with Invisalign, and this number continues to grow each day.
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that can straighten your teeth through a series of clear, plastic aligners. As long as you wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day, Invisalign can slowly but surely move your teeth to their optimal positions.
Unlike traditional metal braces, clear aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. While most people won’t have any idea that you’re undergoing Invisalign treatment, someone with a keen eye may notice them. The good news is that Invisalign aligners are more discreet and comfortable than traditional metal braces.
Since Invisalign is a computerized treatment, you’ll know exactly what to expect and how long you’ll need the orthodontic aligners before you begin wearing them. Traditional metal braces are less predictable so you may experience some unwanted surprises with them.
Invisalign is just one treatment option of Dr. Samadian’s comprehensive, metal-free dentistry approach. He will work with you to determine if Invisalign is right for you. Dr. Amin Samadian may recommend Invisalign if you are bothered by crooked teeth, an overbite, underbite, or another orthodontic issue but not interested in resolving it through traditional metal braces.
Invisalign can also be used to protect the gums and reduce your risk of gum disease. Since its inception in 1997, Invisalign has been the preferred treatment for teens and adults.

Once Dr. Amin Samadian determines you’re a good candidate for Invisalign in Orinda, he’ll take photos of your teeth and face as well as x-rays and a digital scan of your teeth. These will all be used to design a series of custom aligners that are made for your specific teeth.
After your custom aligners have been designed, you’ll wear each set for two weeks at a time for at least 22 hours a day. Each set of aligners is designed so that the teeth will be a bit straighter than the previous set. You can expect your teeth to move 2/10mm per aligner.
As with traditional metal braces, you’ll need to maintain excellent oral hygiene with Invisalign. It’s a good idea to wash and brush them each day like your own teeth to prevent bacteria buildup. Over time, Invisalign aligners will gradually move your teeth into their optimal positions. You won’t have to invest in specialized dental equipment such as flossers or a Waterpik that may be necessary to keep teeth clean while wearing metal braces.
Once you’ve achieved your desired results, Dr. Amin Samadian will ask that you wear a retainer at nights to prevent your teeth from shifting back into their original positions. While some patients choose clear plastic retainers that look like Invisalign orthodontic aligners, others opt for a permanent retainer that is fixed on the inside of their lower front teeth. Dr. Amin Samadian can help you select the ideal retainer for your lifestyle and preferences.
Using his in-house 3D printing technology and advanced digital scanners, Dr. Samadian will pick the best type of treatment and best kind of aligners for you. The most important thing to consider is that 3D aligners are just tools to move the teeth and the knowledge comes from the doctor, not from the computer.
When you begin wearing a new set of orthodontic aligners, you may experience a bit of soreness and discomfort. Fortunately, this discomfort is short-lived and will fade in a few days once your teeth and mouth get accustomed to wearing them.
After an Invisalign treatment in the Orinda, Moraga, & Lafayette area with Dr. Samadian, you can enjoy straight teeth and a healthier, more attractive smile. It’s important to understand that Invisalign treatment times vary from patient to patient. Your tooth structure, age, and how well you follow the instructions Dr. Amin Samadian gives can all affect your treatment time. In most cases, however, Invisalign treatment is completed in between one to two years.
