LAPIP Infected Implant Treatment

Save dental implants without surgery

In a perfect world, every dental implant procedure would go smoothly. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and dental implant complications do arise. Implants can get infected the same way that the teeth can get periodontal disease. The good news is that LAPIP infected implant treatment can help. It’s an advanced laser treatment that can save failing implants without pain or surgery.

What is LAPIP infected implant treatment?

The goal of LAPIP infected implant treatment is to treat failing dental implants by putting an end to the infection around the base of the implant. In addition to removing traces of infection, LAPIP stimulates gum tissue regeneration.

Reasons for LAPIP infected implant treatment

If you have peri-implantitis, a bacterial infection that leads to inflammation of the gum and bone structure around a dental implant, Dr. Amin Samadian may recommend LAPIP. The most common signs of this condition include red, tender gums around the implants, discharge at the implant site, painful swelling, changes in gum color, and bleeding when brushing.

What does LAPIP infected implant treatment involve?

Dr. Samadian will perform a comprehensive exam to determine the severity of the infection. In the event Dr. Amin Samadian does not believe antibiotics will be enough to treat your infection, he’ll perform LAPIP. He’ll use a cutting-edge PerioLase® laser to target the same bacteria that leads to periodontal disease. This will allow the soft tissue around your implant to heal and the bone tissue to regenerate.

You can expect your LAPIP procedure to be completed in just 1 to 2 treatments, compared to the multiple treatments you would need if you opted for surgery.

Is LAPIP infected implant treatment painful?

One of the greatest benefits of the LAPIP infected implant treatment is that it’s virtually pain-free. It’s a minimally-invasive treatment that doesn’t involve any scalpels, cutting, or sutures. If you do experience any discomfort after the treatment, over-the-counter pain relievers can help.

What results will I see?

The LAPIP infected implant treatment can save your dental implants and prevent serious dental complications down the road.
